“I create the music of the future while honoring the music of the past”-Nick Altieri 

   Altieri is a tenor saxophonist and arranger hailing from Connecticut. In 2021, he released his highly anticipated album The Journey, which received worldwide airplay on jazz radio. Nick has spent time performing as a leader and opening for artists such as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Member Darlene Love and New Orleans based Trumpeter Jeremy Davenport. A graduate of the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, Altieri was the recipient of a full tuition Thrive Scholarship. Nick has had the opportunity to study and perform with artists and faculty such as George Garzone, Frank Tiberi, Chris Bullock, Edmar Colon, Billy Buss, Barbara Lafitte, and Josh Rosen among many others.  

   Also an accomplished composer and arranger, Altieri has written and composed music for a variety of ensembles at all levels from High School bands to collegiate and professional ensembles as well as original music projects for other artists. At Berklee, Altieri studied composition with Lee Abe, Nicholas Urie, and Winnie Dahlgren and continues to hone his craft. Nick became an in-demand musician in the Boston and New England area performing regularly in various groups playing all styles. Now, Altieri resides in Nashville, TN where the vibrant music community continues to inspire him. He continues to actively compose and arrange for artists and ensembles. When not performing or studying he can be found teaching, writing, sharing his knowledge with the next generation through teaching, or producing and arranging for other artists.
